Start with the five usual suspects

Run these in sequence and stop the moment it applies:

1. Re-copy the code cleanly. Grab it fresh with no leading or trailing space, and don't retype it by hand — a single wrong character kills it.
2. Check the minimum. If the code needs a spend floor, top the bag up with a full-price piece rather than a sale one.
3. Pull out the sale items. Full-price-only codes ignore reduced stock, and a mixed bag can make the whole code look broken.
4. Confirm the channel and category. App-only codes won't fire on the website, and a denim or dress code won't touch other categories.
5. Check the clock. Look at the verified time on the card; flash codes expire fast and some cap total redemptions.

When the code is genuinely dead
